Small Market Test
Small Market Test
Create a free ten page report to give away on whatever your topic is. This is you have something to give to people that you are trying to get to subscribe to your news letter. Take some time when creating your report. You want to really give them value. People will be able to tell if you are just giving them some crap you threw together in a few minutes. It is imperative that you take the time to do this right.
If you do not want to do this step yourself or if you don’t feel like you have enough expertise in the area that you are marketing then you can always go to fiver.com and hire someone to do this for you. You would be amazed at the quality of work you can get for a very minimal amount of money up front.
Either path you decide to choose just make sure that whatever you plan on giving to your subscribers is of great value to them so they learn that you are really there to help them and not just to make money from them. I cannot stress enough the importance of this one step. The finished result is going to look like this:
Once you have this set up it’s time to build a small PPC Campaign. You will need to spend $50.00 to $100.00 dollars to test this campaign out. Your goal here is to build a list of 100 to 500 people and market a product to them and see if you can at least break even. If you can break even then you can now begin to split test and hone this squeeze page for higher conversions.
If you can spend $50.00 to $100.00 dollars and make $50.00 to $100.00 dollars back by promoting a product to the people that you got on your list then you have verified that you have a good niche selected that will make you money.
If you cannot make your money back then cut your losses and try again. The fact is with this litte $50.00 investment you should be able to recoupe your money.
Now, here I would like to throw a caveat:
Treat your list how you would want to be treated!
Do not just sell, sell, sell! The key here is to be providing value. You always want to provide your list with a reason to stay on your list and you are trying to get to know them on a more personal note. You have to remember that each person you send an email to is exactly that, a person. With hopes, dreams and full of possibilities. They are subscribed to your list because they found themselves atuned to what you were offering to begin with.
You want to provide lots of value and treat them well and basically occasionally “lightly sprinkle” your list with a product offer that you have again taken the time to research and make sure that you would back or that your name can be proud to be a part of. I reiterate Do Not Sell Them Junk!
This will ruin your reputation with your list and even potential new clients. This is a huge no no in the industry. I have gone more into depth with this on *this* page if you want to read more about integrity. Just scroll down to the very last paragraph on that page and you can read more on my feelings about hard selling and not being true to yourself or your clients. I can only hope that you always want to do honest business and be helpful to your fellow people.
